On a Saturday in Saumur the streets still keep their own pace.
This narrow lane of worn cobbles and brick steps falls gently between the houses, drawing the eye straight to the dark spire of St Peter’s. The buildings lean in close, their shutters half-closed, their walls the soft grey of Loire stone. Above, the sky moves in slow patches of cloud and blue.
No one hurries. The only sound is the faint scrape of a shoe on the stones.
Just another Saturday on the streets of the Loire — simple, steep, and quietly beautiful.
