Wednesday for windows - had to be Chedigny.

After our pre-festival visit on Saturday we had to share a few of the lovely windows of the village. Chedigny is one of the most beautiful flowering villages in the Loire Valley, with almost every house seemingly competing in a friendly battle of roses and greenery.

In spring and early summer, the entire village transforms into a living floral tapestry.

These four houses with rose-adorned windows captured on Saturday are a wonderful reminder of how the French art of living beautifully extends even to the smallest villages.

Taken in Touraine: Saint-Ours Church from Les Prairies du Roy.

A beautiful spring view across the meadows of Les Prairies du Roy, captured yesterday, where the striking twin spires of the Church of Saint-Ours rise gracefully above the trees.

Framed naturally by the foreground foliage, this peaceful perspective captures the harmonious blend of nature and heritage so typical of the Touraine region. In the distance, the historic church stands proudly alongside the rooftops of the village, with a château peeking through the greenery on the right.

Les Prairies du Roy offers one of the most scenic and serene vantage points to admire this lovely corner of the Southern Touraine.

Monday in the Loire Valley: Chateau de Montpoupon.

A perfect start to the week with this elegant medieval gem! Château du Montpoupon rises proudly along a quiet road in the heart of the Touraine, its imposing round towers and slate roofs silhouetted against a brilliant blue sky.

Built between the 13th and 15th centuries and later transformed into a Renaissance residence, Montpoupon has kept its authentic fortress charm. The massive curtain wall, conical turrets, and strategic position make it one of the most picturesque lesser-known châteaux of the region. Surrounded by peaceful countryside and forests, it offers a wonderful escape for history lovers and castle enthusiasts.

A timeless beauty that feels straight out of a storybook – ideal for a gentle Monday morning wander (in spirit or in real life!).
