Chateau de l'Islette just outside Azay-le-Rideau. The chateau is privately owned and is similar in style to its more famous neighbour in the town but well worth a visit...we love the tranquil grounds

The Loire Valley always surprising

We are continually extolling the delights of our region Centre-Val de Loire and the Loire Valley as a whole and where many of the great chateaux do not need highlighting some others like Chateau de l'Islette at Azay le Rideau  (near its more famous neighbour) are perhaps less well known yet well deserving of a visit.

We remember our first visit when we were so pleasantly surprised with the chateau and its relaxing grounds...a great place to chill out!

When visiting Chateau Azay-le-Rideau we recommend a visit to its delightful neighbour Chateau de l'Islette and its gardens...you won't be disappointed! 

Open for business...Chateau de l'Islette in the Loire Valley

Chateau de l'Islette which sits slightly upriver from its more famous neighbour, Chateau Azay le Rideau is also well worth a visit with an interesting interior plus a beautiful lake and gardens. It opened its doors for season 2016 on the 1st May.
