Market day in Loches...popular outing in the Loire Valley

One of the gems of Southern Touraine here in the Loire Valley is the medieval town of Loches. Its market days on Wednesdays and Saturdays are very very popular with locals and tourists alike. It is a morning market so you can take in lunch at one of the many fine restaurants in the town...

before going to explore the chateau and donjon within the walls of this charming 'Cité médiévale'.
