Mon banc dominical / My Sunday Bench , Chaumont-sur-Loire

Hidden beneath a canopy of foliage, this simple wooden bench offers one of the most welcome features of the International Garden Festival at Chaumont-sur-Loire, a little shade. Surrounded by lush planting and dappled sunlight, it's the perfect place to pause, take in the creativity of the gardens and enjoy a few peaceful moments before continuing the walk.

Not every memorable bench comes with a grand view. Sometimes it's the quiet corner, cool air and birdsong that make you stay a little longer.

Annual visit to the International Garden Festival at Chaumont-sur-Loire - 2019

We made our annual trip up to Chateau de Chaumont-sur-Loire yesterday to take in its 'International Garden Festival'. As ever the grounds of the chateau were immaculate and stunning...a real credit to the gardeners!

We will be posting MANY images of this years festival over the next week. We rated it the best in a long time.

There is still time to take in a visit to the International Garden Festival at Chateau Chaumont-sur-Loire. It is one of the most popular events of the year here in the Loire Valley. The theme for 2017 is 'Flower Power'

Chaumont Garden Festival

Every year since 1992, the gardens of Chaumont-sur-Loire play host to the annual ‘Festival des Jardins’, a garden festival with up to 30 themed gardens. These gardens are created by different landscape architects, designers and artists around a theme, which changes every year. This brings the chateau surroundings to life with the colour and fragrances of the many plants and flowers on display. It also promotes nursery projects and lets both the public and trade see new ideas on the use of colour and materials in flower and garden displays. Due to its continued quality and success the garden festival has gained an international reputation with visitors coming from every corner of the globe.

he 2013 Festival will run from 24th April until the 20th October

Something different can be viewed annually at the garden festival in the grounds of  Chateau Chaumont-sur- Loire.From over 300 proposals 20 to 30 gardens are selected for inclusion in the festival. Including contributions from the UK, Japan, the Netherlands, Germany and Italy.
