Countdown to Christmas in the Loire Valley - day 2
Chateau d'Azay-le-Rideau dressed up for Christmas and as its the first Sunday of the month it is free to visit today.

Monday's Loire Valley chateau - Azay-le-Rideau at Christmas
We went over to see how the chateau at Azay-le-Rideau had been decked-out for Christmas yesterday and were not disappointed.
The central salon was set out beautifully...
and as we walked through its rooms we were continually met with seasonal surprises.
This setting was full of automatons which played out a scene to music.
The ghostly image in one of the bedrooms.
The 'great attic' had its own lighting display...
All in all it was a very enjoyable day, despite the low temperature.

Christmas at the chateaux of the Loire Valley France...
Chateau de Chenonceau
The Christmas season has kicked in here in the Loire Valley with many of the premier chateaux dressing themselves up for the occasion.
Starting on December 5th and continuing until the 3rd of January 2016 ( 9.30am to 5.00pm) Chateau de Chenonceau is beautifully presented offering a festive display of trees and floral arrangements.
Chateau de Valencay
The beautiful Château de Valençay will offer a unique celebration of Christmas for the first time from 28th November to 3rd January (10:30am to 5pm) , weekends and school holidays including, illuminations, vege Christmas Candlesand Christmas workshops.
On Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th December, from 6pm to 10pm, the
castle and its gardens will be decorated with thousands of candles to celebrate
the magic of Christmas.

Chateau d'Amboise
From Saturday,
November 28, 2015 to Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Chateau d'Amboise visitors can admire the decorations put up especially for
the festive period in the Royal Lodge and discover the origin and traditions of
the Renaissance Christmas.
For the 7th consecutive year, Chateau de Breze invites
you to its Christmas market on Saturday 12 and Sunday, December 13, 2015. Many
exhibitors will be present to show you their crafts and produce.
This event will take place in the underground of the castle,
in the heart of former manorial cellars that once housed the riches of the
area! Many animations for adults and children will also be organized
during the day (pony rides, choirs, meeting with Santa Claus, etc.). Come
and enjoy a magical and warm moment with family or friends! While enjoying
the Christmas Market and entertainment, you can freely visit the underground
site Breze. At dusk, the castle endorse his coat colors for a complete
illumination of the site, including Saturday night!
