Church on Sunday - the chapel at Chateau de Chaumont-sur-Loire

Last week's visit to the International Garden Festival at Chaumont-sur-Loire also meant another opportunity to look into the world of Swiss artists G.Steiner & J Lenzlinger whose whimsical permanent art installation 'Les pierres et le printemps' in the Chateau's chapel is, for us, the highlight of a visit to the castle.

Have a lovely weekend everyone...

Last week we at last got around to visiting for the annual Garden Festival so we propose a week of images from our visit. We start with the chateau itself in wishing everyone a very pleasant weekend.

Yesterday's where is it? - at Chaumont-sur-Loire

Yesterday's image was of a piece of art 'En Plein Midi' by Klaus Pinter which sits in the impressive  stable block at Chateau de Chaumont-sur-Loire.

You can read more about  Klaus Pinter here.

The stables currently plays host to this project, a sphere made up of a series of golden flowers and a number of different artist's work.

We actually consider that the stables ad dovecote are a piece of art in themselves!

Permanent gardens of Prés du Goualoup - Carré et Rond

Today we continue exploring the permanent gardens at Chateau Chaumont-sur-Loire by visiting the garden 'Carré et Rond'.This instillation, designed by landscape architect Yu Kongjian, has been here since 2013 as part of the Chinese gardens, our personal favourites at Prés du Goualoup.

You walk over water on a winding path with the red ribbon of colour making you imagine you are walking through a rain shower.

You can check out more on this garden on the official website of the garden festival here.
