Art in Southern Touraine...

If you are in or around Southern Touraine here in Centre Val de Loire on Sunday why not check out their 'Art & Lard' festival. Don't be put off by the name   lard it is not. It is all about food and art with displays by local artists in various locations throughout the village.

The 'Art & Lard' festival is this Sunday at Le Petit-Pressigny  You can view the works of up to 20 local artists set up in a variety of locations throughout this charming little village. This year's event will also have some musical content in the form of a concert by a brass quintet in the church (not sure when) plus a 'retro-swing group' providing street entertainment. The 'lard' part of the day involves 'tastings' for children and adults plus an exhibition of medieval crockery. 

We understand  there is also an 'exhibition' at the nearby Château de Ré.

Fine dining...

Food is obviously important here in France and a visit to the Loire Valley presents a great opportunity to savour the delights of local cuisine at every level from small village restaurants offering local fare at very reasonable prices to fine dining in Michelin star establishments. One restaurant that has a very good reputation is 'La Promenade' in the small village of Le Petit Pressigny in Southern Touraine.

We have dined here a couple of times and can confirm that the food and service are excellent'

You have a choice of ding rooms both of which are very comfortable...

and the food both in taste and presentation is a delight!
