The town of Briare sits on the eastern fringe of Centre-Val de Loire in the department of Loiret and is the location of the 'Le Pont -Canal de Briare' built to span the river Loire to allow barges to directly link the 'Canal du Berry' and the 'canal latéral à la Loire'. According to the town's website the bridge is the 4th most popular monument in France.
The town itself is famous for the production of enamel tiles and has an interesting church which features many of them throughout both its interior and exterior .
