Church on Sunday - Chapel St. Anne d'Usse

The Collegiate Chapel of Saint Anne d’Ussé,which sits in the grounds of the chateau is a fine example of church architecture from the Renaissance. It has some very delicate external and internal features.

The little church/chapel was asked to be built in the 16th century as a condition within the will of Jacques d'Espinay, Lord of Ussé and former chamberlain of Charles VIII, Louis XII. It would be his grandson who would eventually see its completion and consecration.

The altar/tabernacle is rather ornate for such a small place.
If you are visiting the chateau you should make a point of checking it out.
