We visited the church of Saint Nicolas in Vihiers (49) when returning from a visit to the 'Parc Oriental' at Maulévrier, driving by and catching its elaborate exterior we just had to stop!
The detail continued inside...
...the church you see today was built in 1874 replacing an early 12th century church which was destroyed,like many others,during the revolution.
The stained glass within the church are credited to the master glass-makers, Desjardins of Angers and Jean Clamens of Toulouse.
If you are ever passing this way we would recommend a visit!
