Loire Valley church for Sunday - Église Saint-Julien in Tours

Following our visit on Thursday we felt we had to make our church on Sunday we felt a return to Église Saint-Julien in Tours. The church has featured here in the past but it is currently dressed up inside, rather spectacularly, for the wonderful free exhibition 'Lumières Célestes Marcoville'

The exhibition is made up by glass representations of more than 50 'Virgins', 800 angels and a staggering 30,000 fish!

The angels greet you from the moment you enter the church suspended from gantries over the nave of the church.

The 'virgins' are set up around the outside aisles of the church

The multitude of glass fish form an amazing glass curtain in front of the choir of the churcn.

You can view this fabulous exhibition Thursday to Sunday until 22nd September.
