Something for the weekend - 'Carnaval de Tours'

The city has themed this year's event 'Around the world' with music in the genre Afro-Caribbean, Samba plus many others. There will be a 'village' set up on 'Place des Halles' from 12 o'clock until 7.00 pm and the carnival march will start at 3.00 pm from there. Just hope the rain holds off!

Spring into Loches for the market then see the light in Montresor.

Why not head over to the morning market at Loches today then afterwards take in the  'Exhibition le Gemmail' currently on display in the 'Halle des Cardeux' in Montresor...should make for a pleasant day out.

Tuesday for towns in Centre-Val de Loire - La Guerche

 

Today we feature the charming little village of La Guerche in Southern Touraine which is dominated by its mighty chateau sitting on the banks of the river Creuse.

A wander around the village however, reveals that there is a little more to this village than first meets the eye.

Monday's Loire Valley chateau - Chateau de l'Islette

Chateau de l'Islette just outside Azay-le-Rideau. The chateau is privately owned and is similar in style to its more famous neighbour in the town but well worth a visit...we love the tranquil grounds
