Annual visit to the International Garden Festival at Chaumont-sur-Loire - 2019
We made our annual trip up to Chateau de Chaumont-sur-Loire yesterday to take in its 'International Garden Festival'. As ever the grounds of the chateau were immaculate and stunning...a real credit to the gardeners!
We will be posting MANY images of this years festival over the next week. We rated it the best in a long time.

What's on in July in the Loire Valley
July is the busiest month of the year here in the Loire Valley for events...you can check out some of them here on our 'What's on' page
Monday's Loire Valley Chateau - Chenonceau up front!
This would have been how the original Chateau de Chenonceau on the banks of the river Cher would have looked after its completion in 1517. Katherine Briconnet, the wife of the owner Thomas Bohier, oversaw the building of this small chateau. Diane de Poitiers added the bridge
(1547) over the Cher and Catherine de Medici, had the gallery built (1550) giving it its now iconic appearance.
