Tuesday for towns in the Loire Valley - a favourite of ours.

Langeais has one of our favourite chateau of the Loire Valley,one of our favourite salon de thé,one of our favourite churches and of course our favourite bridge over the river Loire. I guess it qualifies as one of our favourite towns!

Monday's Loire Valley Chateau - Château de Bouthéon

For today's Loire Valley chateau we are actually heading nearly 500 km south to Chateau de Boutheon in Andrézieux Bouthéon in the Loire department of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region. The chateau sits high above the river Loire which has already taken just under 100km of its journey from its source to get here.

We had noticed the chateau from the autoroute on a number of trips south but this time decided to have a closer look. Nowadays it is mainly used as exhibition space plus has large grounds with an animal park and as we were en-route to our destination we only gave it a cursory look from the outside.
