Mondays Loire Valley chateau - Charles VII Castle at Mehun-sur-Yèvre

We stopped off in Mehun-sur-Yèvre over in the department of Cher on our recent visit to Sancerre and actually picnicked with these mighty towers as our backdrop.

They are all that is left  of what was once a mighty castle where King Charles VII chose as his home in the 15th century.
