Friends whose business means they have to visit the city of Tours on a regular basis have been taking advantage of the great facilities at the aquatic centre on Ave de Grammont - both inside and out - even in November!
It also has the added advantage of sitting next to the 'Parc du Lac de la Bergeonnerie' which makes it an excellent venue for alternative fitness regimes.

Tuesday for towns in the Loire Valley - Sully-sur-Loire
Some images of Sully-sur-Loire in the department of Loiret from a visit last year. The town itself is pretty unremarkable but its chateau is a delight and not difficult to find as it sits on the banks of the mighty Loire river.
but we did visit its pretty church, Saint Ythier...

Loire Valley church on Sunday - Saint-Michel de Fontevraud Abbey
Today we feature the church of Saint-Michel de Fontevraud Abbey which has to play second fiddle to its near neighbour the grand abbey complex itself. It has both Romanesque and Angevine features, making it an interesting place to visit.

October in Azay-Le-Rideau
One of the great things about living in Centre-Val de Loire all the year round is that we get to see how the seasons affect the beautiful villages and landmarks.
Back in October we revisited the pretty town of Azay-le-Rideau and even without visiting its very popular chateau we spent a pleasant afternoon having lunch and taking in the the views from the bridge over the river Indre.
