Wednesday for windows - Palais de Justice in Loches has new windows to the world...

Took this photo yesterday of the progress of the work on converting the former Palais de Justice in Loches into a 45 room, 4 star hotel. New (?) windows have been opened up on the first floor and the roof. This project is apparently costing around 10M euros, a brave investment we would have thought!

Tuesday for towns - Chaumont-sur-Loire

Chaumont-sur-Loire is a small village (pop. around 1100) with a large chateau. Predominately consisting of a single street along the south bank of the Loire river it is lorded over by its chateau of the same name.It is a relatively new village by French standards and was really only created as part of the reconstruction of the chateau grounds in the middle of the 19th century. Tuesday for towns - Saint-Benoît-du-Sault

The fortified medieval village of Saint-Benoît-du-Sault in the south of Berry Province (Indre) which evolved around a 10th century priory, today maintains much of its charm and authenticity.

Looking pretty under a blue July sky.
