Previewing a 'remarkable garden' of the Loire Valley
Australian guests who stayed at 'Les Balcons',a holiday rental home in Le Grand-Pressigny, missed out on a visit to the 'Chedigny Rose Festival' as they had to leave for the next part of their travel adventure, What they did do however was visit the village days before the festival and probably got to see it looking its best in preparation for the thousand of visitors this weekend.

CHÉDIGNY ROSE FESTIVAL
This weekend is the perfect time to visit the beautiful village of Chédigny here in the Loire Valley as it will be in full bloom for its annual 'Rose Festival'.You will find around sixty exhibitors participating in the
festival: rose growers, nursery growers plus artisans related to the garden. The
local artists of the village open their studios and welcome the work of
painters, sculptors, potters and photographers. The streets come alive with
musicians and street artists –something for everyone…go along and smell the
roses!
If you can't make it this weekend don't worry as the village is charming all the year round.

Walking in the Loire Valley...
One of the great things about the Centre-Val de Loire region, like most of France, is the diversity of its countryside. This makes for some great walking experiences, you can start of at the centre of a picturesque village walk through fields of wild flowers in open countryside and on to forest lanes. The region also has great rivers in the Loire and its tributaries giving the walker a different perspective with valleys and riverbanks rich in flora and fauna. Another popular ramble is among the vines of one of the many vintners where there are opportunities to learn about as well as taste the delightful wines of the region.

there tends to be a lot of events on offer…you can see a few of them here on our website.

Open for business...Chateau de l'Islette in the Loire Valley
Chateau de l'Islette which sits slightly upriver from its more famous neighbour, Chateau Azay le Rideau is also well worth a visit with an interesting interior plus a beautiful lake and gardens. It opened its doors for season 2016 on the 1st May.

Tours Fair...
The largest regional event in the heart of the Loire Valley ‘La
Foire de Tours’ brings together a diverse range of over 700 exhibitors offering
advice and products with most sectors of business activities represented.
The Fair also blends tradition and conviviality via its Gastronomic Village and the
Marché Gourmand offering unique tastes and flavours with this year’s theme
being ‘Italy ’
