Bastille day celebrations...
All over France this weekend the evening skies will be filled with the spectacle of fireworks in every form known to man...where the actual 'storming of the Bastille' wasn't really the most significant event of the start of the Revolution it is now how it is remembered. Like Stephen Clarke's account (chapter 16) in his book'1000 years of annoying the French' - if you haven't read it you should - funny and informative.
Check with your local tourist office for a display near you.
